I agree that anyone who doesnt wish to join should be able to claim their seats before anyone new.
But how long do the club give them? You could say £60 deposit saves your seat but you may has well joined as the price will work out the same anyway. I can see the majority members being RM Stand not because they are more affluant oe anything but because they want their seat back. The East stand is different as the earlier you go the more choices you have where to stand.

And barring £10 they will pay the same as joining in the first place.

That's poor and you know it. There is a more than probable chance that your seat will be gone unless you pays your £60 now. That is a real smack in the face from your club to many loyal fans no matter how you dress it up.
Or do the club only consider you a loyal fan if you're a Club Rovers member? Bit like a first and second class fan hierarchy?
Jeez - if Hull had done this can you imagine what you lot (and us, rightly!) would be saying about our board?

You don't appear to be thick, but I'll reiterate anyway:
Quote Gavin Miller - Legend="WormInHand"Well obviously, but what if you don't want to/can't join Club Rovers? And loads of new people do who want seat passes - they are inevitably going to pinch many long-timers seats. Your club are saying "So long, and thanks for all the fish......"'"
So long, the pub and Golf stand beckon...

But you have joined Club Rovers so as not to risk losing it, fair play to you, I don't have a problem with that BUT with the economy the way it is at the moment there will be many who just don't have the money at the moment, dress it up whatever way you like, but this is the club wanting £60 NOW and the rest of your pass money by the end of Sept if you register. I'm sure there will be some people who register for the scheme so that they can get a RM stand seat, which they wouldn't have been able to do otherwise, hence someone loses their's. For what it's worth, with the extension to the east stand I don't think there will be as much of a problem on that side, especially with the relatively low uptake of the scheme in comparison to the number of passholders.

TBH your getting rather tedious.
Of course Rovers Membership brings advantages. Did you as a passholder bother about non passholders who had to wait to pick over the remain of derby tickets and did you step back and allow them first dibs with CC tickets? Did you present them with your tickets ?
RSG members get advantages.
JR members get advantages.
Shareholders get advantages.
Passholders get advantages.
Sponsors get advantages.
Corporate Sponsors get advantages.
Fact of life.
Get the idea ?

Right so your assuming that there will be a major uptake of new supporters when realisticly to start with anyhow the 2010 members will come from the current fan base.
Lets say hypotheticly that 2010 attracts 2000 members
Most will be East Standers as thats the biggest and most popular area.
As you made assumptions so will i.
1000 from the East Stand = Nobody's place taken
600 from the RM Stand = More then likely to retain their current seat
300 from The Well = Nobody's place taken
100 - North Stand = Again likely to sit in the same area.
Mountain out of a molehill somewhat id say.

=redBeing a passholder has always secured you these additional benefits so that's a pretty weak arguement.
RSG members get advantages - =redam a member, but how will the RSG suffer this year when there are no discounts? The RSG have secured players like Scott Murrell in the past when the club didn't have the money to do so, all monies raised go to the club, it seems now that perhaps they are not as important. Whilst it was set up to help the club there is no doubt that many people joined simply for the discount in the shop
JR members get advantages - =redboth my kids are members and have benfitted from discounted travel to away games, yes
Shareholders get advantages - =redsince when? I have been a shareholder for the last four years and never had any advantages whatsoever
Passholders get advantages - =redthat is exactly the way it should be, and is at practically every sporting club in the land
Sponsors get advantages - =redwell, I'm part of the player sponsorship team too and never had any advantages other than the fact I have the good feeling of being able to say I'm a sponsor, which is why I did it
Corporate Sponsors get advantages - =redcan't comment

Just because it's red and white doesn't mean it's right for everyone, just because I don't agree with something Rovers do doesn't make me any less of a fan. If you've joined, good for you, I don't have a problem with that, it's obviously right for you, so why do you have a problem with the fact i choose not to? Nowhere am I telling anyone they should or shouldn't join, I'm just pointing out the negatives as others are pointing out the positives.
It's a discussion board, or did that one pass you by.
