He was a regular in the nsw and Queensland cup leagues, which are on a par with championship. I don’t think Edwin played many nrl games before we signed him, but he hasn’t turned out to be a bad player. Let’s give him a chance. He doesn’t take up a quota spot.

Everybody knows that Ches runs every signing past Lam Snr and then Derek. You are outnumbered H1895, not to mention out-experienced.

Kai came as a relative unknown and limited first team NRL experience. I was excited from them from what I was told by this same family member and what I had seen a couple of times in Aus coverage. Less coverage of Ethan but he did play pre-season this time around and has been retained all season, so they saw value in keeping him around. Chezzy and Lam know their onions, he will not be on a big contract, he adds to a need area, and is not quota.

I stand by my prediction for this guy. Maybe we already have the second rower that some say, and I have wondered if, we still need to find.

If he and Halton can tie down the starting 11-12, then another stronger back row signing will still be a big bonus, but maybe not a first priority.

Time will tell, but early signs are certainly good right now.

He was top drawer last night VL! He looks lightweight, but he defends hard and punches holes ball in hand, different player than Kai but looked very good!

Also sounds like Badrock and Hodgson looked the part when on. That bodes well for the season. Squad depth in the forwards will serve us well.

My player to watch for this season is Trout. I think this will be a big breakout year for him. If he can do that, we have a good looking pack.
