| Quote carl_spackler="carl_spackler"Lyne was definitely cleaned out after kicking through. 20 yards further back from where Tickle took the penalty, mind.
The game should not have been close enough for them to get back in it, though, Yeaman should be ashamed of himself tonight. 4 points in front, fullback bearing down, options either side, and he puts himself before his team. Berrigan could and should have had a trot to the line under the sticks.'"
the penalty is given from were the ball lands when a player is fouled after kicking through

Penalty is awarded where the ball lands or where the defender fields it.
The interesting issue here is the penalty was for a late challenge on the kicker and that is a mandatory sin-binning for the offending player - so Crusdaers should have had a player binned at the end.

| Broke my vow since Agar's contract renewal tonight and attended a home game. I'm delighted we scraped home but for me we simply saw the difference between a side that employs a head coach and one that doesn't. On paper we should have blown crusaders away but (leaving his poor reaction to a very dodgy decision aside) Noble creates a synergy within his team whereas as usual we contrive to be less than the sum of our parts. Plenty will say 'a win's a win' and all that, but how anyone can think we'll trouble Wigan, Warrington, Leeds and even Saints when it really counts is beyond me, we'd need a Head Coach to be in with a chance of that happening.

| Multiple thanks, got caught up in the Radio Humberside comments and completely forgot about that rule.

Lyne had a man on him and Berro would not have scored from that position imo, Yeaman did the right thing hanging on to it.

Same old record eh. We did not play well with ball in hand but defended well, conditions were terrible but we got the two points. Every side you mentioned has won ugly this season.

When have any of the sides mentioned been spanked like we have?

Berrigan had an infinitely better chance than Yeaman, I can't possibly agree with you there. Yeaman had a man between him and the line, Berrigan didn't. He may have been caught, we'll never know, but what is now a cast iron fact is that Yeaman was not in a position to score and somebody else potentially was. The correct option was the inside ball, absolutely no question.

To be fair the player in front of Yeamo took the dummy and he would have scored had the winger (I think) not come across and tackled him from behind.

But again, he therefore ran towards the only 2 players in decent positions to break down the play rather than just make a simple 3 yard pass inside. He took the more difficult, low-percentage, and less beneficial option, for seemingly no other reason than it might have brought him some glory.
I'm a fan of Yeaman, and have defended him many times in the past when he's been criticised for not passing, but tonight's example was inexcusable IMO.

Saints by us at their place.
Not sure what that had to do with what we were talking about? We could get to the GF and you still complain about Agar, it's the agenda you have, which you are entitled to.
