It is a fact though isnt it that by dropping the ball all of the time you have to do more defensive work which is more tiring?
It therfore is also a fact that if we were better attacking we would do less defending meaning your joke statement above isnt far wrong. |

Not sure on the full relationship background but Smith appointed Agar GB academy coach last year which Agar had to step down from when he got the Hull job. |

Watched boots and all a few weeks back and Paul Cullen was anaylising (sp??) our defence and actually pointed out how well we use the pendulum method and how as a squad we cover for each other when others are out of position i.e Tansey out of position somebody automatically drops in.
I'm not the biggist John Sharpe fan but to be honest it is virtually impossible to valuate our defence performaces due to as I have said our lack of attacking play , aggressive pack , strange interchanges , even stranger squad selctions etc. Which all fall in Agars lap.'" In principal I agree that a good attack and completed sets with a good kicking game lays the foundation for good defence. Either you've got the ball and the opposition can't score or they have it down their end. BUT I think that with us the reason we haven't been hammered on occasions is because we've been so soft and disorganised from the off on so many occasions. The intensity for the other team just hasn't had to be that high and teams have cruised through games against us with no prospect of us being able to score points. Great recipe for boring losses. |
