now ive slept on it, wouldnt mind murrell and newton getting a good hiding too. murrell for his stupid inbred reaction to macca's big hit on wheeldon in the derby and newton just for the fact he's something he isnt, he's no hard man.

I agree, but you can take the phrase "do a job" on a number of levels. A very tiny and sad minority would actually wish injury on players who put their body on the line every week for our entertainment.



That said, everybody enjoys to see a big hit on the opposition if there's no damage other than to the player's pride. You regularly get threads celebrating such bit hits, eg Aizue on Wheeldon. You can't tell me you wouldn't have a right laugh if Clinton put Yeaman on his @rse in front of the Craven Park East Stand. In much the same way we would if Lauaki put in a robust challenge on Ben Cockayne.

Im amazed anyone dares to tackle Cockayne, given the extreme violence he is capable of.

The thing that really annoyed me with that Aizue and Wheeldon shot was that Wheeldon got his revenge but nobody talks about that. Both great hits and the personal battles for me are one of the reasons what makes this sport so great. If I had the energy I would show them both and then have them shaking hands at the end of the game in a video on youtube.
