I see the club are marketing the forthcoming derby with saints using the strap line...'Nothing Else Matters'



Cant help but feel they've got this wrong...maybe they should have gone for... 'Turning the corner' !!



In seasons past a good win against Saints was perhaps the highlight of our season, how things have changed. We now expect to challenge for the GF and CC silverware and rightly so.



If we were to lose to Saints next week it really wont be the end of the world.



Finding our form and qualifying for the GF at Old Trafford and the CC Final - different story...indeed 'Nothing Else Matters'!!

Derby day against Saints - nothing else matters.

Agreed! It makes us sound a bit small-time "nothing else mattters". Suppose its just the marketing team trying to make the game seem a lot bigger than it actually is. Also, if "nothing else matters" then were knackered because i doubt any of us really believe we will beat them with our home form the way its been for the past year.

While we are on the subject, has anyone EVER stopped a new Aussie/Kiwi import player or coach and said 'We don't care who you beat as long as you beat St Helens twice a season'

It is such an important game and it takes away disapointment from previous weeks and often picks us up even though we might be playing rubbish but it's not like we would cope if that was the only game we ever won!

The League and Challenge Cup are obviously the main targets but 2 wins a season against Saints is great for the feel good factor. Speaking of 2 wins a season - when was the last time we did the double over them???

2003. 4 wins out of 4 incl. Play Off. We also didn't lose to Saints in 2004 either (in the league) but drew on Good Friday that time.

No, but if you ask an Aussie/Kiwi import player or coach "Who is the most important team to win in a season", they know it's Saints!



The CC & GF are for show, Saints is bragging rights! Don't undermine the Derby!

In Monie's Magic, I'm sure Monie tells the tale of his first press conference in '89 and some old timer saying something like "as long as you beat St Helens and get us to Wembley".

Wire/Wigan is now a bigger fixture than St Helens/Wigan. It's a clash between the 2 biggest sides in the game at the moment.
