Whats with all this "won't be much money for new signings" cr@p?
Have Dewsbury, Batley, Sheffield for example, spent loads this year? We don't pay transfer fees anymore so I would expect us to be able to afford better players than the above simply based on income. It's about getting the right players, coaching them correctly and then having a bit of luck with injuries. How much time do we spend in training learning how to pass the ball to a player who runs straight into the defence?
And on the subject of passing, kids can pass more accurately. Every time we should be attacking the line at speed players are constantly having to reach up or even jump to catch the ball - that is pathetic!
Keep Nanyn?????? Great kicker - nowt else - we don't have the luxury to carry him. Need SPEED !!!!!!! surely it is now obvious - and Nanyn has none.

| We have a reputation for mugs who pay over the odds for carp players, the future is SL cast offs, DC's, loanees, cook islanders and local lads.

| Well gambling on getting it right this season was a bit stupid wasn't it. When we were refused a SL licence last time around, instead of spitting our dummy out we should have knuckled down a made sure we were in a position to apply this time around and making sure our application was too good to turn down. Last season was a debacle and to expect IM to turn it around in one season and pull off a miracle rescue act was wishful thinking. The only thing that will get us to where we want is hard work, not pipe dreams.

Having a game plan, learning how to pass, catch and tackle would be good starting points.

Agree with all except number four, Mo. Armitstead will need a certain sized contract to remain in a 'foreign' country, Nanyn has become nowt more than a goal kicking pony and Donlan's knee's are knackered.

So that will make us a self sustaining , viable , financially sound business that can be a force in the Championship ?

| To be honest in the future I'd most like to see us playing good rugby league on a regular basis. All thoughts of SL and franchises and revenue streams etc are doing my head in, important as they are. I don't pay money to stand and watch accountants debate, I go to watch rugby league.
This is why a lot of the time I'd rather watch a video from 2000-2004 than shell out £16 of my hard earned. The quality of the game at this level has dipped in the last few years in my opinion.
Think of the crowds ten years ago; I remember very clearly, Oldham, Major Semi-Final 2000. A great game watched by about 3500. We didn't really have a hope of getting into SL that year but it didn't matter. We were playing a good style of rugby under Terzis that had been developed under Millward's first tenure. Thats why people came to watch.
Since the SL year, IMO, apart from some really good spells under Benson and some flashes this year, it just hasn't happened on the pitch enough to make the public pay to watch.
We concentrate [ifar[/i too much on off-field issues. It's not our fault; thats just the nature of the beast as it stands in this non-relegation, franchise climate. Now that our SL hopes are put to bed for at least 3 years, if not forever, I'd like to just see us focus on the team, the players, the matches and the game of rugby league. After tonight I realised we're lucky to have it in our town and it might not be around forever.
