Regarding that night in Sheffield it was a dreadful night not just because of the score and performance (and incidentally I think it was less than 50 though but not far short) because my train brokedown on the way home. I arrived in Manchester at 1-30am Saturday.
It was also notable because that was Chris Giles's debut appearance. |

Are you sure you don't mean Chris Hough, Frank? He signed on the team coach on the way to the game, didn't he?!
And the Barrow game was an expected thumping; we expected to challenge Sheffield at the time (think you're right in that it was in the late 40's Frank rather than actually hitting 50). |
