| shown more faith in players from the u21's then perhaps maybe Leigh wouldn't be in this position now. Everyone whos watched the 21s this season know exactly the quality of rugby they've been playing, proof of this if required is in them finishing top of the league. But were they given a good enough run? I'm sorry to say but the answer is a resounding NO!
I know that one or two of Leigh supporters questioned whether or not the lads were ready for the "step up" well i'm sorry but now its too late to test this theory. Virtually the same 13 players were picked week in/week out for the 1st team regardless of the result. On the odd occasion that a 21s player was promoted and if the team lost then they were automatically "dumped" back into the 21s with no doubt feeling that they were the ones to have caused the defeat, a great confidence booster if they ever needed one, yet on each occasion none of the "1st teamers" joined them in dropping down a level. You have a marvellous 21s team whom i bellieve would have kept you up on enthusiasm alone if they'd have been given the chance, but it was not to be. I'm not sure as to when you will ever get the chance to call on the services of a 21s team as good as the one that Leigh had this season. I'm a wiganer and shouldn't really be bothered but i am....Leigh has produced some tremendous players over the years and as a club deserve to be up there with the best but your coaching team have ripped the heart out of all the young lads who were desperate to pull on the Leigh shirt, and show the Leigh faithful just exactly what it feels like to pull on the that famous jersey. Good luck for the future and continue to support what i regard as my No1 second team

Its not a matter of "dropping" a player its a matter of competition for places, players in the 1st team new they would get picked the following week regardless of their performance. Having a successful 21s should really have spurred the 1st team on as they new they would have to play well to retain their place, unfortunately this wasn't the case.

| you can only play agaisnt the opposition put infront of you week in week out qand beat them which they did. Look at the likes of saints and leeds bringing the 21s through gotta give people chances or you wont develop any young talent through

| Saints and Leeds sit prettily at the top of the 'food chain' and have the luxury of hand picking the best talent in thier areas, also to bring youngsters in a losing environment isnt condusive to thier development at all.

| It works well at the top clubs but not at our level look at Rydyard ,some on here thought he was'nt good enough for 1st team rugby when he played .Now after a season with the reserves he has come on leaps and bounds which has been evident in his last 3 matches.
