Just a quick story about a great jesture from Mick.



Unfortunately, the mother in law came round for tea tonight, as she'd been on holiday since the final. She'd seen one of her friends at lunch, who told her that she took her grandson to Sports World to buy a new pair of football boots. He'd chosen a couple, and wanted them in 9's, but they couldn't find any in his size, so he was well fed up.



They were just about to leave when a fella came over to them and said, in an Aussie accent, that he had loads of "footy" boots, all in a size nine, several pairs brand new, and told the lads Gran not to buy any, and gave her his number.



She called him later that day, and he offered to take the boots round, which he did that day, and gave the lad two brand new pairs.



The funny thing is, the Gran had no idea who he was, until she was watching the Final, and saw him playing!!! She texted his number the day after to say thank you again, and well done in the final, and he replied to say "No Worries, it's my pleasure"...



What a great bloke !!!!!

He is supposed to be a very heartfelt bloke, he does alot with childrens charity over here and was very involved at a special school in Oz!

I think this can be said for most players! Even those who have played at the highest levels in Origin and Test matches are down to earth and happy to talk to anyone and give up their time. I think it's what makes the game feel so personal and close to the fans.
