Only two things create an atmosphere. A good performance on the pitch and a good opposition crowd for banter. Personally I think if you have the two things above then you dont need "a drum". I dont mind the drum as on occasions it does get a little bit of noise going. Similarly I dont mind a Mexican wave. But the thing that both of those have in common is a) some people hate them and b) a good game with a good (split) crowd doesnt need them

i also got quite ed off at ppl applauding the dragons onto the pitch.

The people behind me clapped the Catalans players on which was nice enough then called all of our players see you next Tuesdays for the rest of the game.

A Mexican Wave is synonymous with people who are bored by the game they are watching. It would have been very apt for the Wakefield v Warrington game earlier in the season. Due to the lack of atmosphere yesterday, I suppose it would have been apt for that also.

Same logic would dictate that you do not give applause for an injured opposition player being carried off.

we coud have done with the lad,who was in the red lion.He was smashed and singing Wire songs.He woud have got the crowd going.We dont need the drums imo.

Six pages on about drums, and this post just about sums it up (or it would if I could read it). This is a Warrington Wolves Rugby League Forum, not a musical one. Those on about glory hunters (again) should realise that they are putting money into the club and without them the crowds would be half of what they are.
