Is this 'deserved' contract something we should let Warrington determine?

How does anyone know what goes on in the england camp?? And to almost accuse Tony Smith of tapping players up is ridiculous.



He doesn't strike me as being the kind of coach who will only pick players from certain clubs as he's already picked Myler when in NL1.



It's up to players where they want to play and it's their decision at the end of the day...anyone naive enough to think that Myler left Salford because of what Tony Smith might have promised while away on England duty once or twice needs their bumps feeling - Myler left becuase he wanted more money and a bigger stage to show his talents and if Ratchford or anyone else thinks the same then fair do's to them I say.

All jokeing aside sdo you think that if Ratchford has been called up (well deserved it is without doubt) that Smith would covert him? think if Ratchford was approached by Warrington the RFL would need to look at the conflicting interest of Smith being an SL coach and national coach and the influence he can have in players joining Warrington if the promise of greater national involvement is mooted to them.

A definate conflict of interest exists whenever the current GB/England boss coaches an SL team and the influence he can have on bringing players to the team he coahes.

Sorry but for a sport the size of RL to allow the national coach to work for another team is wrong, Smith should be spending his time going round the other clubs, spreading the word of RL, even helping some of the promiseing coaches in the lower leagues attaining thier full potential.

Did this happen when he was coaching Leeds and GB ????

I can't believe there's news (albeit unconfirmed) of one of our players making the England squad and no-one seems to want to say anything other than "Oh no, we might lose him to a bigger club"?!

After being shuffled around the park this season, he's never complained about not being stand off, waited his chance and took it brilliantly.



Salford Red All Over pulled him to one side after the Celtic away NRC Semi and told him he was going to be a special player, now I've got to admit at the time I thought it was just the ale talking but boy was he right.

Firstly, not many players deserve a call up to the England squad that Stefan.



Secondly I can only echo people's thoughts on Tony Smith re the Richie Myler scenario. It has happened to us twice now, both times with at the time our best players (i.e Coley/Noble & Myler/Smith). What happened to the concept of a full time England coach? Smith should have been given the ultimatum of Warrington or England. It might sound pathetic to others, but to Salford fans it is a plausable thought that Smith could use his position to his and Warringtons advantage.



It's a great position to be in if you're associated with Warrington, but a worrying one for supporters of other teams when their best players are called up for honours.
