Quote Oldham Rhino="Oldham Rhino"What aren't facts?
That SKY have to give notice by June 28th for which games they wanted to show in Round 22? If you don't believe me check the official Super League website. I haven't thought of anything
Oh, and while you are there check the line that says "These fixtures are subject to change" as well.
Tally ho
Completely different argument that cockle and not related to this one if you ask me.'"
Firstly Mr Rhino why don't you disappear to your own forum and keep your nose out of matters that do not concern you.
As for you lovely supporters who want us all to be good and loyal and drop everything simply because the RFL , Sky and the two clubs in Hull say we have to its not so bl00dy easy.
Two years ago I was told that I was not really part of the clubs plans along with many many more fans who live away from Hull. Yes people do actually move away from the area and still support the club they love. Bizzare I know for such a little sport like RL.
I have had to accept that as a non season ticket holder now I am no longer valued by both the club and some keyboard warriors on her who think they are greater than most because their disposable income goes on watching Hull FC and beers, as opposed to family and mortgages.
But I am on Hull FC's mailing list. I have had numerous emails telling me to get my tickets early for the Derby. Heaven forbid I miss out on getting my favourite seat for the biggest game on our league programme.
So I bought my ticket 3 weeks ago. I bought my rail ticket 3 weeks ago. I booked my annual leave 5 months ago. My job is not one were I can say on Monday I want Friday off and all around me drop everything to cover me.
So are you with me so far. I have simply moved heaven and earth to see games this season and especially to ensure I get to the Derby.
I have seen the press release that says we have sold 16000 tickets which is more than ever before at this stage of the build up.
Then bang its all change.
The club must have known about this for days as they have consulted with Police and SMC. Yet they still proceed with the marketing to get us all to purchase tickets. WTF did they not give us prior notice? Why not hold off selling tickets? Seems we went through this 2 years ago when we decided on Fridays only.
It simply serves to alianate us the fans.
The game is over 100 years old. The club is nearly 150 years old, yet we seem to think that Sky if they pull out will lead to the sport collapsing. Cods wallop. They said that when ITV pulled out of football.Clubs would disappear and the game would change. Ok Grimsby have struggled. They have found their level more like.
If clubs need the Sky money to balance books and pay full time wages then maybe they need to be more prudent. Sky could go at any time regardless of Hull and Rovers playing on a Thursday. The game will survive without a shadow of doubt.
If the RFL and clubs want us to follow them then they have to start having some consideration for those of us who purchase tickets, shirts , etc etc which I am certain is far more than what Sky give collectively.
So this fan now has to go out of his way to get a refund. A change of annual leave is not an option for me. I have to try and get a train ticket refund and in all honesty I wonder why we bother.
Why would I buy a ticket in advance in future when there is absoluelty no chance of knowing if the game will go ahead on the date on the ticket? If they can do this to fans following the biggest supported game of the season they can easily do it for any game they please.
So Mr Rhino consider other please before spouting drivel and all of you who state "well you have enough notice to change your plans" it may be easy for you in your ivory tower but for alot of us its dam near impossible and will serve to simply turn some of us away from a game we love far more than execs at Sky and the RFL.
