| Jason Smith. I've watched Hull since '89 and I've never seen another player come close to some of the stuff he did in a Hull shirt!

the main reason i went for smith is that when i started watching FC the main man was knocker norton and smith is the nearest we have had to him

| Swainy for me - Just for total commitment and consistency every game. A tackling machine!!
Followed by
Jason Smith ( Class act)
Ritchie Barnett ( the real one)
Kearney (1 season great impact)
Kingy (For his attempted big hits but undoubted black and white through and through)

Doing a good job as well. Cooke is romping away with it. Still, all those website hits are great news for the HDM. Bit hypocritical to claim on the one hand you'd never bother with the HDM again and there should be a boycott, but to value one of its poll results so highly as to organise a campaign to rig the result

I'm quite alright with Crooke winning the Hull Fc player of the decade, It places further emphasis on how poor he's been for them in the latter years, It's amazing how he'd run the show for us with great regularity and now he's moved he can at times be almost anonymous. He only gets himself 'up for it' when he feels like it, the derby's add even more credence to this.

| Has to be Jason Smith. Swain was exceptional, but he didn't have the same class as Smith with ball in hand. Smith is the best player I've ever seen in a Hull shirt in 20-odd years of watching.

We've had some great back row forwards down the years, and Knocker was the best of his generation (Mick Crane came close on occasions). You're right, Jason Smith was the nearest we've had to Knocker - and a 'proper' loose forward. Smith, Maher and Grimaldi were the best back three we've had in years. However my player of the noughties is Richard Swain, for all the reasons previously mentioned.

| The players I would have paid a fortune to watch in B&W over the past decade are.
Jason Smith... the nearest we have come to Knocker in a generation.
Richard Swain... simple the best player I have seen in B&W since the glory days of the 80s
Stephen Kearney... Fantastic signing and unapreciated by alot of fans. The work he did both on and off the field for the club was immense.
English lads. Horne, Prescott, Cooke.
Over all when you think of the dross we had in the 90s it has generally been a great decade of progress with some fantastic players on display. Even though the last two years have been awful (Wembley aside) to think of where we were on Jan 1st 2000 to what we have to look forward to next season is amazing really.

| If J.Smith had been fully fit, i would agree but it would be intersting to see the % of games he missed for us. For sheer excitment I would say R.Barnett Snr, the greatest centre in SL history I would argue. Without Kearney though I don't think we would have won the cup so for just that one season, it's him for me.
