| Quote knockersbumpMKII="knockersbumpMKII"The sad thing for Michaels is that based on overall consistant performance he's done better than all the first pick backs aside from JS. He's the the best defensive back including Yeaman/Shaul and given he played right across the back line without any problems I think he was unlucky to be dropped.
Whilst Yeaman has improved it's a lot easier for the pressure/focus to come off in a winning team, he's lost a yard or two and his go forward is no better or worse than Michaels was. He still pulls out the odd excellent tackle but still completely misses others (as in notgetting there at all) and I honestly still think he doesn't get involved enough,
Fonua is very suspect position wise on his D and only the last month has started to put a shift in but given the extra couple of stone he's carrying from his NRL peak and his dodgy knee at season start (which clearly hindered him) he's never a winger atm hence why shifted inside which defensively is a mistake IMHO.
If we have Fonua AND Griffin as our centres then the inside defenders are going to work extra hard I'm afraid as that will continue to be our weakness. In attack it's looking great.'"
The thing is Knocker Yeaman is from Hull, close to the coach and a long serving player..Had this not been the case he would never have been offered a contract extension based on his previous 2 years form.
With regard to extending his current contract for another year as someone has pointed out can you imagine the uproar on here if the club announced the signing of a 33 year old average centre for the 2017 season because thats what Yeaman is.

Fixed that for you
So rather than have a useful debate about the pros and cons of the team and individual players based upon our signing and whom should be retained you resort to an inane childish post.
Truly pathetic and deraillment of thread...

| I'd get rid of Yeamo too, but he's the only one that qualifies for the 10 year service £50k allowance. Now I wouldn't imagine he's on much more than that, so essentially he's a free player.
It's simply up to the likes of Logan/Griffin/Turgut/CT to be better than him.

| Good signing is Griffin, think we'll still sign a 6 too.
Would imagine we'll move Michaels & Pryce on, think I'm right in saying Ellis & Mini have signed on to slightly reduced deals next year, so I certainly see enough cap room.
Don't want Soward though.

Didn't Houghton make his debut in 2007, so would that count next year?

Correct, so £50k doesn't count on his salary next year if we release KY

| It does make me laugh that people comment that £50k is a "free" player, still have to pay them £50k, how many posting on here get that?

| It's £50k off the SC though. I think that's what people are getting at. £50k to spend on another players wage.
