Sheldon you are right . The players need to have the right mental attitude as well. It may well be that its not in the Hull public's make up to be dedicated. I use King, Cooke as examples of those who have had it all but blown it. But I would suggest in most cases at a young age they have to have the right guidance and few are. |

yes he shouldn't be included in this age group of players as was much older. he was a youngster when he featured in the sheffield eagles side that beat wigan in the cup final
on another note i always liked richard fletcher but somehow he never quite fulfilled his potential for me |

Fletcher had the world at his feet. A run of shocking injuries did for him. Jason smith said he was one of the best runners of a line of attack he had seen. Was fairly quick and a was a great ball handler, a goal kicker too. Very unlucky player.

Think he maybe also suffered from the fact he had what it takes to make it as very good player but didnt seem to have the attitude to put in the graft to make it, maybe this was down to injuries or lack of any real mentoring. |

Fletcher was unlucky with injuries, but his discipline was also suspect IMO. Needlessly gave away a fair few silly penalties that had a habit of being costly.

shame about the injuries, when he came on the scene i thought we were looking at another lee crooks for a while |

Brett Turner was a really good prospect who we sent on his way He was much better than Lee or Hall. Its a pity he wasnt focused. Having said that those of us who watched Tommy Lee and Scott Moore rip the Aussies apart really believed we had the best young halfback going. Just look waht the club did to him. Turned him into an average utility player.

Brett is on trial at York atm,after spending the last few years playing alongside Mark Hewitt at west hull. |
