Local pride and bragging rights still matter to some people and therefore any league or cup game against Rovers is a must win fixture!



Yes we have had a very disappointing season.

Yes we are not challenging for silverware.

Yes it is highly unlikely we will make the play-offs



But finishing above Rovers, regardless of how many derby fixtures each team has won is HUGE in my book!!!

As a Rovers fan i wont be sitting or standing harping on about finishing above FC this season as id mearly be painting over the crap that has been served up.

Think if you took the mantle that we are not important (and install that into the players) then you may find some of these 6pt losses turn into wins and then you'd be miles ahead anyways.

I see FC as only important in the lead up to a game, Wigan are important today.

Id gladly lose all 3 derbies in a season to finish top 4-6.

Your missing the point completely, we are not happy with where we are or how we are playing.



Finishing above Rovers is all we have to look forward too and even if we mange that it wont make up for an utterly crap season.

Got to try and won as many games as possible and finish the season as positive as possible, you only have to look at Cas last season, had a really good run and carried the momentum into this season.

We finished above rovers and won 2 out 3 derbies in each of the last 2 seasons and I don't look back on either season with any sense of achievement. Beating rovers is fun but meaningless unless it contributes to a successful season for the club. I'd rather we lost all 3 games to them and won a trophy than beat them 3 times and win nothing

wash your mouth out, we could be bottom on NL2 but beat KR in a CC round and some people would be happy!

That would be a fantastic day, thing is I would still be supporting Fc and wishing them the best.

So onto the only true Derby in RL form goes out of the window in this one have the hungry Rovers pack got the belief to turn over the out of sorts Hull FC , 3-0 to the Robins time will tell.

I think you over estimate the pull of a win against your lower table side (same as us).

Funnily enough, we've been in that situation before, admittedly not 2 divisions lower. Also, the year we were relegated, possibly 78, I seem to remember beating Rovers home and away and in the cup, it felt bloody great. I don't like the derbys now and this one is the most meaningless I can remember, in fact I'm finding it hard to be enthusiastic about any game at the mo but hopefully I'll be there.
