Is it possible to be undecided about how you feel about the head coach.



We all know where we feel he is going wrong.



His Interchanges are all wrong and is not getting the best out of Moa, Houghton and Fitz.



He has continually blamed the fact it was not his team even though other coaches have stepped into clubs and made an immediate impact.



His percentage of wins is nowhere near good enough for a club of our size



On the flip side..........



I am happy with the level of discipline he is setting in the squad and the example he is setting to the youngster and also Westerman who came with a reputation. This is the reason I would hold no fears over signing a player like Gleeson who is potentially being sacked over drinking as he would know he is coming to a club who dont take prisoners.



I am also happy with the players who he seems able to bring to the club. O'Meely is proving to be one of the best props to wear the black and whites, Fitz is a true leader, Moa is proving to be a handful week in week out, Briscoe and Sharp look like scoring tries for fun.



Although it was easy to get swept up in all the anti agar europria of last week it was also endearing to see the players and board back him. I am happy knowing there are no issues in the camp at present and also knowing the team and staff feel they can turn this around.



Therefore I am willing to give them a break I feel everyone else should too.



I don't want to come across as a spin doctor, I have watched Hull for over 20 years and appreciate that is dog years compared to some, all I am saying is If the players are behind a coach there is something right, In any workplace if the staff are happy normally you get good results, if you don't you tend to replace the staff!!!!

I was one who was willing to give him a chance and got sick of sticking up for him for too long. Im now in the "i think its time he left" brigade. The only thing is that at this moment in time there is nobody out there (and no i wouldnt like noble) good enough to the standards of coach we as fans would like.



So in that respect id be happy he stayed till the end of the season and hopefully sort somthing out in the meantime.

He needs to go .He hasn't taken the club any further on from when he took over . Errors have increased , Penalties have nearly doubled , Points +&- have declined alarmingly. He'll never coach in SL again.

Can't really argue with you and its points like that why I was all for Agar getting the push.



All I am trying to point out with this tread is that for every negative point I can think of about Agar I can also think of a positive one and that I really am in two minds about the guy. There is still a part of me that does believe he can still get it right this season.



I am of the opinion we should not being looking to sack him just yet but also if we are looking like we are nowhere near challenging for top 4 we should not be looking to let him finish the season.

Plus lets not forget both of those clubs have had backing in terms of players they sign and salarys they pay. Not sure how they are doing it but it is clear to everyone they are being a little bit less tighter when it comes to the purse strings. This will improve the perception people have of the coach as they have a better product on the field, having quality out there with ball in hand making better decisions, dropping less ball and giving away less penalties.

It's a hypothetical question isn't it, on the flip side could either of them coach our side to a grand final? Probably not. Warrington and Wigan both have some outstanding players and strength in depth, tbh I'd fancy my chances of coaching them to at least a top 6 place myself.

May it be that he is more suited to a Director of Rugby role than a coaching role? We all largely agree his recruitment and implementation of discipline through the squad is effective and he seems to be doing a good job according to Rule and the Hetherington's. He seems to be well thought of by the majority of the players. He also seems to also know a thing or two about the technical side of coaching, based on his comments on other games. So maybe he would actually be a loss to the club if he was disposed of completely? However, like many, I feel he's taken the club as far as he can on the pitch and should move aside in favour of someone of the Maguire/Brown ilk.

When I look at a coach's capabilities, I ask if that coach has the majority of his players playing at near to their optimum on a regular basis. With smith and maguire I'd say yes, with agar it's definitely no. In fact I can think of few instances in his tenure when they have

Michael Maguire inherited, in his first season, the same squad that Brian Noble had, plus Paul Deacon!

I can't really claim that my opinion is valid as I did not watch Wigan week in week out for the last few years but from an opposition fan It seemed to me like Noble did some great work with your club and improved them year on year, I think if he had stayed on he would have lead them to a trophy anyway.
