Know all of the youngsters did well today however think Lee Williams deserved a thread to himself, whilst the opposition was poor today he shone big time. He looked a totally different player compared to the 1 who was playing for the 20s last season, he has bulked up which in turn i think has given him the confidence to take the line on and he looked very comfortable ordering the senior players about which has to be the most difficult thing for a junior 7 to do. If today was a audition to be backup to Long and Horne he did everything he could do to get the job.

Start him 7 at Cas?

Would mean us going to Cardiff without our halfbacks not playing a game....would sooner long played at 6 with Williams at 7.

Hasn't it already been said by either Agar or Long that Long wont play in the friendlies as he doesnt need to?



I'd be interested to see Williams given another go if he did so well today. (i didnt go so only going by what others have said)



Some players look totally different stepping up 21s to 1st team. I'd heard he didnt look anything special 21s but if his game suits 1st team more he has to get another opportunity. As you say, Long and Williams may be an option.

I would have him and Long as the halves against Cas however i think Nicklas will get the nod due to his fulltime status which will mean he has spent more time with Long in practice during the offseason.

Long not play in friendlys...FFS Agar...i dont care who you are...you need a run out to get the plays and drills going....mind you...5 drives and a kick...so i can see Agars point......Will Wigan or Sts leave out there big guns...will they Bolloxs.

I might be wrong but i'm sure i read it somewhere mate. The quote was that Long doesnt need to play in friendlies to be ready for the season with his experience etc.

He showed glimpses of class in the 21's but i like most people thought his slight frame and lack of talk would go against him but today he did seem a totally different player both physically and verbally.

What a load of $hit.....sums Agar up for me....why did O'meley play today then...he doesnt need to.

He also said he wanted his forwards to have minutes under their belts. (and then left Fitz, Tickle, Lauaki and Westerman out)

Thought that Sharp & Westerman would have been given game today and against Cas with them being new to the team. I can maybe understand the Westerman one as Cas may have asked for them to be his first opponents in a Hull shirt.
