I think MC is being a bit of an egotistical prat to be honest.

Rumours of signings are good for the club but more than that they are just good fun for the fans. I don't know why he feels he has to shoot every rumour down.

Just tell us when you sign someone and leave the rumours to us.

All I was saying is we shouldn't feel like we can't talk about rumours just because MC keeps knocking them down.



Hopefully there will be more transfer news so I wouldn't expect to lock it unless something offensive was said or the topic ended.

A positive rumour does the club no harm at all and and its free promotion of the club. There is little to look forward to next season due to the uncertainty so reports about player recruitment may lift the spirits of the support. There certainly isn't a need to hammer them down.

If the rumour is true then there could well be good reasons for MC to play it down. There could be agreements between the clubs not to announce it until a certain date. Maybe Rankin has only signed for us if we stay in SL? There could be other criteria.



For Carter to say that he thought Rankin was going back to Australia doesn't mean anything. I'm going to Hull KR this afternoon but it doesn't mean that I'll be staying there more than a few hours. I certainly won't be playing there.



I think Carter's message is simply don't believe anything until the club have officially confirmed it.



Remember the Washbrook back to Hull rumour started months ago in the Hull media and was true. Yet it took a long time before it was confirmed, for reasons unknown to us.
