Quote Fordy="Fordy"Whilst I appreciate what Kear has done for us, I have said several times last year that we are tactically inept and we seem to make the same mistakes week in, week out.
I think we should have tried to get some Wakefield spirit into the coaching team and should have looked to Andy Kelly to have another go. I bet he would have come, not doing anything else as far as I am aware.'"
I'm not sure I understand the Andy Kelly choice. It's a matter of opinion as to whether JK has gone as far as he can. However I can't see the reasoning in replacing him with another coach who has achieved even less than Kear.
I felt that Andy Kelly was one of the most badly treated coaches ever at Wakefield. No way did he deserve the axe, it basically ruined his career through no fault of his own.
That said this all happened ten years ago and the world has changed since then. If Kear is a dinasour as is often expressed on here I can't see how AK would be any better. He's been in and out of the game a while and has gained no SL experience.
I'm not suggesting AK would be a bad choice, just can't see where he would be an improvement.
As for the Wakefield Spirit bit, JK was the man who led the great escape of 2006, the most spirited Trinity performances in 40 years IMO. It's amazes me how quickly we forget and how selective our memories are. Andy Kelly has no edge over JK where Wakey spirit is concerned.
I'm afraid if we get a new coach (we don't IMO) for me he will need to be an Aussie, because frankly the English ones are not good enough.
