while waiting for the walk down mentioned to Dave Clarke that I had my boots in the car, he was going to get me make up the numbers but my body would of fell to bits in the first tackle

how did they get on with the new rules mutley,we missed our first game due to me been away at leeds carnegie on a coaching course.

they did okay with them sometimes a scrambled for 1st maker but i think the players adapted superbly and will kick on from here. Im sure your lads will adapt quickly as well from what i saw last year.

where looking forward to it,we havent done any training for it has its all been rushed through and i only found out last tuesday about the rule changes.like you say i think they will addapt fine and it will be more a case of learning how to play on a bigger field than the rules themselve.

yeah it was quite impressive but i think the new coaches and of course emma should also feel very proud of themselves..good luck with the season hopefully we might meet after crimbo period

for the second week running cas panthers u9s will miss this weeks fixture due to their opponants oulton raiders forfiting the game due to them not been ready for the new rules.



this really is annoying knowing that every team was put in the same boat with the new rules.

sorry to hear this would of expected oulton to get this right, can you not get a friendly sorted

too late in the day when they called off the game "thursday night" they did offer to play at last years u8s rules but having spent the past three weeks teaching my players the new format this would only lead to confusion for my players as you cant play one set of rules one week another the next.



i dont entirely blame oulton raiders totally has the rule changes were brought in very late and with very little time to adjust compared to u10s who are playing the same rules but they have had 12 months to prepare compared to our three weeks.



but has i say all teams are in the same boat and only playing will edjucate the players and find out if they can cope which im sure all the kids will do has they usually come up with answers if you ask enough questions of them,its easy to rap kids in cotton wool but sometimes you after grasp the nettle and have confidence in their ability but we all dont think the same do we.

what harm would it of done if they played the game and missed a rule or too, that's how they learn.

Stanley Rangers are playing Methley at home KO 11-30 after a good 6 all draw will be looking for our first win of the season, seen some good movement in practice
