What it does supply in it's present form is a competition that's more sellable because of the "leveling down ethos".

That the level of intensity in the competition has increased 10 fold.

Clubs Academys are now being given the attention they deserve and hopefully more of these kids will make the grade up into SL.

This years competition went into it's last weekend with positions 3 thru 8 still to be decided. You cannot knock that in the slightest.

Same goes for the Championship this year an outstanding competition with no promotion.

As for Wakey we are probably still only spending 70% of the available cap so an outstanding effort by the club and it's players.

But yet Leeds or Saints will still win it.



I am all for the cap, but in its current form it does little for the game, and it could easily be altered to enhance all the pro's you state above.



We do need a cap, just the current form is in my opinion not the best way to go about it.

We may have a winner from Leeds or Saints, but taken this is the first year of the franchise system and already we have seen benefits filtering thru.

New champions every season won't happen overnight (if ever) but with the threat of relegation away the focus as been on the top eight and that can only be good for the game.



The play-off system with eight does look more balanced and I really look forward to seeing the "Coach's Pick" in action this year and with fingers crossed we'll be in the mix.



All in all we can nitpick at lots of things in the game but on the whole we get the majority right. You've only to look at Footy and Union to see what I mean.

Always been a fan of no relegation, next step is the feeder club system in my opinion.



2 massive errors with the cap in my opinion are limiting it to a set ammount rather than linking it to turnover and also failing to reward teams for having Academy produced players in the first team and also for failing to reward teams who have players produced from the Academy that become International players.

agreed but you can only beat what is in front of you, if we lose next week then to most wed of been awful but i dont care now if were average in the play offs if we win and i dont think if wigan were crap and got to the gf youd be bothered

Agree mate, a win is a win, but the way some are going on you were superb tonight, in my opinion you were average beating a poor side on the day, you are capable and have been much better this season without the hype surronding what was in my opinion a very below par Wakefield performance.

it was scrappy we dropped ball and i think we can play better.the play offs will be pressure i think leeds will get there then the other spot could be anybodys, if we can perform who knows we can score points.

As for your points re Academy could'nt agree more also need to look at the whole system underneath the elite comp re Reserve Grade and Acadamy.

Imbalance? Is that so wrong if all teams are striving to maximise there turnover, surely it can only be good for the game.



It is only open to abuse with the garbage administration at Red Hall.

Or certain clubs persistently doing there sums wrong !!
