I have seen another poster on here who has heard the same so I think there is something in it. I think every Wigan fan has expected Charnley to leave after this year, the problem the club have with him is he wants to go now.

If true, I'm sure Widnes would be glad of a winger on loan for the season, then a nie big transfer fee for us from the NRL after that. Plenty time for Manfredi to find his feet before the season really starts properly in summer. Failing that there's Gelling and Thornley as well

Why is anyone surprised by this? the chairman has said he is more than happy to sell players for a fee. He opened the gates where a contract at wigan doesnt really mean anything.

Or option 3. Sit him down, work it all out and get him playing again as soon as possible. He's not the first and he won't be the last star player to fall out with his club only to be back playing for them a week later. Sport is littered with them with Wayne Rooney being the most recent.

The truth is the longer you drag it out the harder a situation becomes, it would be in Wigans interest to sit everyone around a table and sort it out, whatever that may be.

Animosity grows with time.
