I would recommend starting on Wigan Lane.
Bowling Green
Millstone
Royal Oak
You can then work your way down the hill have a pint in each of the above.
Then choose from either
Tudor House
The Anvil
Or perhaps have a pint in both.
Then if you appreciate good music
The john Bull
From the John Bull you can then head into King Street and you will be tuned in enough not to notice how terrible it is!

crap though they were I kinda miss them .. Princes too when all the floors were open. Did you ever sample the delights of JR's? last time i ever went in there it was full of old bags
Walkabout is about as dreadful as it comes, 2 best places in Wigan are revs and Bentleys imo |
