| I didn't go to the game, it was my son's presentation night.
Ironic really , because as we were getting texted the scores through, Andy Gregory was doing the presentations, and was telling a little anecdote - Wigan signed a new player, and the lad asked Greg what the winning bonus was. Greg replied £500 a match, the lad asked what the losing pay was, Greg replied, don't know son, I've only been here 2 yearsicon_wink.gif
Tongue in cheek I know, but on Satuday night, it really marked the decline for me.

| Quote wigan_knight="wigan_knight"I'm giving my opinion of what Wanes demands would be if he took a caretaker role till the end of the season
If were still in the same position in 12 months time we look again. To be honest mate i would take a few months a having a team looking like they actually care than what were watching right now.'"
No, i understand what your saying, but if/when the change is made, i want it to be a well thought out long term chance, not just this "give it to wane" guff.

But i wasnt, i simply wasnt bothered that we had lost to the worst team to grace Superleague since Leigh the other year.
Maybe its the way the players just dont looked bothered either, maybe its starting to rub off on the fans who pay there hard earned each week and turn up with the hope that they may turn it around.
But im typing this post now, and i seriously would not be overally concerned if i didnt get to watch Wigan again this season. Simply bored of watching them with the lack lustre attitude.

felt the same beginning of last season so not been a single game this year and so glad i haven't.
And i tell you something for free i don't miss it one little bit i still watch all the sky games at home or in the pub because i love the game but have fallen completly out of love with Wigan Rugby League im afraid.

| Giving the job to Wane could end up being a mistake. Or it could turn out to be the best move this clubs done in years nobody knows the out come.
The fact is something needs to be done about the current situation. And if thats taking a risk on Wane then i'm 100% behind the idea

| In truth i have had a feeling of apathy towards Wigan for the last couple of years. The few peaks have been enjoyable but generally as much as i love the sport as a code, i also find myself drifting away from it at times.
The World Cup combined with the Wigan performances of this year have really taken my enthusiasm for the game, i go to watch most other clubs throughout the course of the year and again generally i think the entertainment is not up to what it has been in the past.
I no longer buy the Rugby League weeklies, which i used to buy religiously, rarely would i not go to a game over the course of a round, now i find myself looking at other options.
I still am thankfully glued to the NRL coverage, but regards SL it just seems to be in a rut that i cannot get excited about.

I refuse to believe that Noble and his ineffective regime will be here beyond this season. Only a Grand Final victory could make that happen now, and to be honest, I doubt we'll even make the play-offs, so there's no chance of that.
It is't too far off. We've just got to keep our nerve.'"
Pretty much sums it up for me.

| We knew all this pretty early on in the season and have wasted yet another season "transitioning" or whatever bull phrase is en vogue this week. I only hope Lenegan has a long term plan that at the moment he can't divulge.

I know exactly what you mean Jonh, but please don't tell me you're swaying to Union!

I played both and have always found union to be a very dull sport indeed, and certainly have taken no interest in the Guinness Premiership, despite having a few mates who play in it.
I did however one night recently catch the highlights show on one of the obscure ITV channels, and while i appreciate it is only highlights was impressed with what i saw, regards the skill level and pace of the attacks leading to try's. I appreciate there is a lot of dross that is cut out in the highlights real but it still did not remove from the clinical nature of the try's they scored, the skills involved in it and the angles they ran to generate the space. It was like watching rugby league of 5-10 years ago.
I have had a few freebie offers from my mates to go watch England at HQ, never considered it before but if asked again i think i will go. I would never pay to watch it mind.
In truth i have found myself more drawn to the grass routes game of League, really enjoyed getting out and watching the kids prior to them going into the pro systems and having all there flair, pace and enthusiasm coached out of them, most of the games i have seen i have enjoyed far more than anything Sl has had to offer this year.

I do,
I have been a season ticket holder every year since 1988 (appart for 96)
and of those seasons i have only missed about 20 games including world club champs in Aus.
I used to look forward to game day from about tuesday, and it would ruin my weekend if we lost.
However last year and certanly this year, i to be honest dont really care, yes i enjoy it when we win, although due to circumstances i am still waiting to go to a game where i see us win.
However when we loose, i just dont feel anything anymore, I just feel that if the players dont care, why should i bother?
Its not just about loosing, 2006 was one of my favorite seasons, its the manor in which the club is being run (from a coaching point of view), that is making me loose interest.
I am not renewing my season ticket next year, i will just pick and choose my games, may go against saints warrington and leeds, but thats going to be about it, and to be honest, if i have anything else even remotly entertaining that weekend i probably wont be at the game.
I realise that im only 1 man, and my contribution to the club is minimal, as apart from a season ticket i dont buy anything else (shirts, t-shirts, programmes etc). But the gennerall apathy from the lads who i go with (about 20 of us) we are all doing the same next year, so thats 21 season tickets not being bought, and i bet many on here will feel the same.
Sorry for the length of the post.

Couldnt agree anymore.
Well and truely bored of watching us and Im generally bored of rugby too
8 teams in a playoff system, absolute farce.
75% of the season means nothing and its showing. All the games I have seen this season, both watching wigan and on sky have been boring
heart is going

| I don't think its Wigan its the game as a whole. They brought the cap in but fact is if we'd have a top wins the title system Saints won be on course for a sixth consecutive championship and a fourth consecutive Challenge Cup this year. That's a Salary Cap working according the GMR commentary lads and those Sky pundits.
Like I said in the other thread I geniunely believe it's the Aussie imports that are ruining our game for all clubs. There are odd gems but most of not better than what we have. The NRL is equally as poor for me.
I don't want to go back to the days of when Wigan dominated, I don't want to see any side dominate, but in those days all the other sides had quality players as well. Don't think that's the case today. That test match may have been a walkover on Saturday but on paper I'm embarrassed by it.
