Not wishing to show my age...but it was called the RL Championship Trophy, not League Leaders. And the reason we got to keep it was not because we were the last team to win it, but because we'd won it the most times. Same with the Lancashire Cup.
And it really says it all about Latics when a cr@ppy pennant they've been given by United takes pride of place.  |

Is it me or does looking at the older trophies next to the new ones really remind you that they really don't make them like they used to?
Are the ones left and right of it the old Championship trophy and the Lancashire Cup? Proper trophies them. The new SL one looks a bit naff next to them.

Kind of agree, although I think the SL trophy looks pretty good.
The only one I can't see is the Regal Trophy, not sure why it would be missing. |

Wigan were the last winners however I do believe that nobody from the RFL actually gave Wigan that trophy - that would be like Liverpool being awarded the old Football League trophy prior to the Prem League - in a sport that is run properly however that would never happen as there are over 100+ years of winners etched into history - of course if somebody can prove me wrong and that Wigan were officially given that trophy I'm happy to retract that statement. |

The Rugby League Championship Trophy was renamed First Division Championship Trophy when the league system changed in the early 70s. The league leaders were awarded the trophy after the regular league format then the top 8 teams played off for the Premiership Trophy. I wonder where that one is now? |

It's not bad as modern trophies go. It isn't quite the same as the nice old ones though. The Challenge Cup is probably my favourite trophy in any sport. |

Have to agree, magnificent piece of silverware. Regarding the SL trophy, its similar to the Barclays Premiership one, no real imagination gone into either design (IMO). |
