I'm pretty sure Madge has spoken to Stuart Cummings about decisions too. Most coaches will at some point.

Trying too hard with the "I'm not Michael Maguire, I'm my own man" routine. Apart from the Widnes brainfart which I contribute to the aforementioned, generally happy.

genuine question, does he say it that often, or is it everyone else bringing it up after he said it once?

i dont like him, he's a doughball, pompous perhaps... just not a very personable guy at all, wish he'd do one and take that thug Luaki with him.
Wane undermined me the day i paid £22 to watch his kids at Widnes, besides that i though he was a bumbling fool before he became coach.
we have a group of great individuals but the 'unit' just isnt there... i put that down to him.
hope that answers the question for you

I personally have seen him on TV do it twice, and not just because I watched Sky Sports Boobs for more than 1 hour.

| i really think people are getting too hung up over the Briers try. yes, he may have been offside, now watch the game and tell me there is not at least one person off side at every play the ball? should it only be penalised if a try is scored?
Briers was on the other side of the pitch from where the ball was played, it went through several pairs of hand before TL for the second week in a row did not look at what he was doing and cost us a try. TL is to blame not Briers, Briers is doing what any decent player does.
the two biggest issues for me in reference to the officiating was the charnely incident which was bloody stupid, are we now saying that only one person can contest for the ball in the air? he had his eyes on the ball the whole time less we not forget charnely had to run an extra mile to get round Atkins blatant obstruction.
and yes the last penalty being taken 6-7 meters from the incident.
outside of that i did not have too much issue, stealing in the tacklet is bloody difficult to call unless you have a clear view and the speed at which it happens and bodies in the way a knock on will always be given if a steal cannot be seen.
but in summary, the ref did not beat wigan, wigan beat themselves with poor team selection, poor concentration, poor leadership on the pitch.

He has said it though, and it's enough to realise what he's trying to do. Any success is down to me and any mistakes are down to me.

He said it a couple of times early doors, but its a stick to beat him with. Without reference to any games in particular, the refereeing has been terrible this year, and not just in our games.

Fair enough, he shouldn't be that bothered about continuing the work that Maguire put in place given that he would have been a big part of it.
I always thought one of the benifits of promoting from within was that you could continue the methods of the previously succesful regime.
When I hear his interviews ob BBC or what have you, I often think he talks a lot about him rather than the team.
How long is his deal, and do you see Wigan with a trophy in 2012.
