| Quote wbk666="wbk666"how do you work that out, each key player of warringtons cost almost as much as our whole squad.
Anyone who went to the game will tell our lads played very well and final score does not truly reflect the game.'"
My thoughts exactly. As a Wire fan your lads did you proud, TS kept a pretty much full side out for 80 minutes which you probably weren't expecting, but Leigh were in in for the full 80 minutes and made the game interesting to watch, un like most pre season friendlies.
As I said to FrankB int bus station you've got a formidable squad which I think will go on to do really well this year and I hope to get to as many of your games as I can. Thanks for a good afternoon, good luck for the season and enjoy your rugby league!

| Quote Toadstool="Toadstool"I thought we played some nice stuff - our pack was very impressive but they were ruthless when we got tired towards the end.
Thought Hoppy and Briscoe went really well but I am looking forward to see how Nicho develops as his instincts look really good - he always takes a couple of steps from halfback putting uncertainty in the defenders' minds as to will he pass or scoot.
Robbie was the biggest disappointment - why he didn't take the chip though on the full in the 2nd half I don't know!
=#FF0000Also I'm not sure about Ellis at 7 - he looks unfit and kicked poorly.
Nanyn and Maden did a good job defensively on the high profile Wire 3/4 line and Stu Littler looks a class act.
Wire will do very wel this year, they have strength all the way down into the back up players.
All in all an enjoyable rugby fix!'"
Ellis kicked very well against Salford though.
Warrington put our kickers under much more pressure, and adopted a 'dual full back' tactic on defence, with a winger plus Hodgson covering the width of the pitch. (just as they did last year.) That makes it much more difficult to place kicks well.
Just a couple of reasons why they are a top SL outfit - and good to watch, employing a high degree of invention.

| Agreed Alan. Wires tactical awareness was nice to watch. Thats why they pay those players top dollar. When Fred has handed over his video to IM, the game will stand our lads in good stead for the coming season. I was impressed by the way we scrambled back when they broke. Jamie Ellis wasn't at his best today but still not bothered and yes Steve, Govin did make a difference when he came on. He was hungry and wanted work, and made the Wire deffence sit up and take notice.
Our squad will be ok this year wait and see.

| Your guys did pretty well today, far better than last years fixture. As for us, i thought we were very flat with a fair bit to work on. Still 48 point winning margin without getting out of 3rd gear isn't too bad i guess.

| I was greatly impressed with Govin (apart from his final pass of the game) and having said that it was hard to criticise any players performance.

| I was very pleased with what i saw from Leigh today and can see some good times ahead .I wasn't surprised with the score line after seeing the Wire team ,they were much quicker at the PTB which had us on the back foot but the lads scrambled back well plus they managed to turtle our lads in most of the tackles making sure they had plenty of time to get back in defence .I see that Briars hasn't changed ,he ripped the ball out for all to see except the ref when Leigh where on their line ,he always gets away with it.What was the penalty for when Nanyn was in the process of scoring? All in all i thought the lads did good for most of the match and thought they played for 80 mins .

| Should it have been a penalty try ?i mean what DOES have to happen to get one ,also shouldn't Mitchell have been sin binned at least, for the professional foul

Maybe, if Hicks was the official........In all honesty Gareth Hewer is one of the better refs in our div and had a good game.

Took longer than I thought for a wire fan to come out with that one, totally nullified your 'kind' comment at the beginning. Briers is still a cheat (no respect from me for him) and Rileys high shot was shocking. The score flattered Warrington.
One more thing, I thought I was watching U10s rugby for a while, with your trainer (coach?) on the field for full sets of 6 when you had the ball. The time these SL trainers spend on the field has to be dealt with, its a 13 man game.
