Which part of PRE-SEASON friendly are you struggling with

I think people are forgetting this is our first real competitive game and the fact we missed quite a bit of training due to the weather.

The problem is , how many times over recent years have we seen ourselves dragged down to the level of our opponents , rather than playing to our potential



Today we performed no better than a national conference team against a bunch of talented and enthusiastic kids



If we cannot raise our standard irrelivant to the opposition we will be staring relegation in the face again in September

I have to agree with both the Leythers and Starbugs posts.

Without a doubt. I think - and hoping - that todays performance was due to a bit of rustiness as it was our first real competitive game and that we''ll be a much better side against Oldham.

I thought there where about 800 Wigan fans today. A very good following imo meaning around 700 more Leythers than last week.Despite the doom and gloom in view of the known Wigan side I actually find that encouraging from our point of view.

For a so called genuine RL fan, you think Starbug would get off his hate campaign and for once and realise that Leigh are an average team at best who were run close by a good rugby team with years of experience playing together and have a "winning" mentality/habit.



Much of the Wigan side are the "best of the best" youngsters around and have a good pedigree and future.



Have a think which side will be hurting most after todays result!!! (it aint Leigh)

Very encouraging , except the lacklustre display will mean that most will not be coming back in a hurry



Just 6/7 1 st teamers playing 30 minutes each would have provided the spark we needed today IMO

I can see the point your getting at Starbug. No dis-respect to the youngsters as they probably deserved the win but it just didnt feel the intensity the derby should of had.

I defended the W1g4n coach in not sending a fullish 1 st team , but not one single player , sorry they were out of order

You make valid points but if they,ll pay£14 per match and we do start to play good stuff and bearing in mind they knew what sort of Wigan side(who played well in my view) I think we can get them back.



We are better than we played today that is obvious.



I don,t think IM will be satisfied with our team's performance and I doubt most of our players will either.

After last season it's got to be back to basics. You have to learn to walk before you can run. The first half I was mesmerised with the number of angles we were running. Didn't see that at all last season Second half we lost that! Gotta take the positives out of every game!
