DEFINATELY only 13 on the pitch bat any one time, the mix up came where the 4th official drops Duffys 'sheet' and stands there like a duck egg waiting for him to come back to pick it up, it does get picked up and handed to 4th official Duffy then comes back to touchline and touches the form whilst in 4th officials hand and runs back on field 5 minutes yes FIVE MINUTES then elapses before duffs is shown the red card now in that five minutes there has been about six tackles a dropped ball a scrum a penalty and a try yet the incompetant Match commissioner and 4th official - for thats what they appear to be - do not get a message onto the ref that the Duffy interchange has been deemed BY THEM to be illegal.

John if you do get summoned to appear before the discipline committee forget Freer I'll do it its a no-match mate.

Re the ref I thought for everyone he gave against us he gave one in our favour so it evens out. The idea that refs respond to crowds shouting is a bit wide of the mark in my view.

Of course, you are right Frank. However, when the roar 'forward' went up, he looked to his TJ, who then informed him whether it was, or not. I'm not saying they weren't forward passes, but I wonder how many forward passes we conceded and how many 'Haven did?

According to todays League Express the Home club are calling for an RFL enquiry and the reporter(John Nolan) reports that we had 14 man on, saying that Duffy appeared to join in befor \Mc Connell had left the field, and befroe being given permission by the fourth offical, Duffy was involved in a tackle which then there was a forced error and a scrum and Leigh scored.

It goes on to say that, After the try the ref alerted by the Haven bench by the match commissioner sent off Duffy for entering the field before being told to do so. However bizzarrely he undid the substituion and let Mc Connell to re enter play. leaving Leigh with 13 men.

So the mind boggles, did we have 14 or not????

Ineresting that Dave Parkinsons normally fair reports don't appear in either paper this week.

Dave has done a report for the Bolton Evening News - I've read it. Often, the 'home' reporters cover the game for the 'trade press'. There were never 14 men on the pitch. Check the Haven (and Leigh) substitutions - I wouldn't mind betting that there were technically 14 men on the pitch, for some of them! I think it is being blown up out of all proportion because Duffy was involved in the try. It all boils down to whether the card was handed to the 4th official correctly. If it wasn't, then he should have gone on the pitch immediately and told the ref, not allowed himself to be pressurised by Ged Stokes and his colleagues for the best part of five minutes and finally get the MC involved.

The fault lies with the 4th officials, and the MC, not JD.



I was told Fev had 14 on the field on Tues, But Leigh aren't complaining.



Seems like Haven have twitchy bum syndrome, with being so close to the place there fans sang about with glee about us being in last game of last season.
