I have fired off a e mail to redtoothpoker they run loads of poker comps in pubs and clubs,to ask about costs/deals they could offer for hosting a competition like this.
Would the club be able to use a room at the sports village if numbers were large enough to run this competition,like I say I don't know the costs involve at the village but if ran properly I'm sure it could make money,you could even invite players and coaching staff down and you place a bounty on there heads to get knocked out.
I'll post an info they send back to me other the weekend

This would be a great fundraiser and sounds easy to sort out , however I havent got the time but if another couple of volunteers could be found we could do this as a LISA event and get the club involved too.

The Redtooth poker league runs for 13 weeks consistently throughout the year with a regional final held at the end of each season and a national final once per year.
The cost of joining the league is £20+Vat per week, for that you get:
2 table top poker tables
2 cases of chips
2 packs of plastic playing cards
Posters to advertise
All the paperwork to fill in each week and send to us to keep your league tables updated
T-shirt for your tournament director
DVD that shows you how to play and how to run the evenings
Entrance into the league, regional finals and national finals with an annual prize pool of £80k
Full legal guidance
Telephone helpline Sunday – Thursday 7pm – 11pm
The minimum subscription is 13 weeks (one season) and the equipment always remains the property of Redtooth.
The current season started week commencing Sunday 9th May, however you can join at anytime.

Have chated to lynda about it as she hasn't the time to get it up and running,sadly at this moment in time I can't because of work commitments
If someone as contacts within the club and the time to set it up,I'm sure it willl be a big hit,not much setting up to do really as they will come and show you how to set it up.
Ideally for it work it should be based at the stadium if possible and try and get some players down for its lauch,we could either run it as a competition under there banner on a weekly bases or a monthly with a higher fee to be set for entry with more prize money.
Like I said if someone can get it up and running with help from the stadium,club raises money and stadium gets bar sales,win win as far as I can see |

I play on Tuesday nights in The Nuts Poker League at The Bowling Green, I know the tournament director was looking for a venue on Wednesdays, they charge £3 per player every week plus normally £5 into a side pot to play for on the night, you could easily ask him to charge say £5 per player with the extra £2 going to L.I.S.A, the top I think 15% players in your venue qualify for regional finals and the top about 30 in your region qualify for a bonus regional final. All good fun
