Well it was delivered free to me last week which was the 28th, but if they are to charge for it I can see it closing within 6 months and Salford will lose its mouthpiece, because the quality of the journalism in the paper is not very good: in fact I don't even think there is any editorial control, they let Norman Owen write his column for months before it was pointed out he didn't use punctuation.

I`d agree the end of the Advertiser is pretty close after free deliveries in various parts of Salford have been stopped.

For what its worth I`ve not missed it so I won`t be rushing to buy a copy.

Pay for a paper that is half full of esate agents adverts, No thanks.

Said estate agents will possibly withdrawing their advertising now the free deliveries stopped.

Also I lose free litter tray linings.

One thing for sure is that our regular exposure to thousands of homes in Salford is now diminished. Every week we got plenty of coverage in it whatever you thought about the quality or accuracy of it, it's another stream of publicity and awareness gone and we need all the exposure and coverage we can get.

There was only two good things about the advertiser.



1. The Salford coverage.

2. The netto offers leaflet.

There's also the before the bench, birthdays and deaths notices, each of which are interesting depending on how old you are.

I at least recognise one persons name before the bench each week, makes me laugh some of the things they get done for though

got my free advertiser as usual today, no problems round where i live.
