Quote The Black Cat="The Black Cat"I still can't understand why any shed dweller would want to go and watch a home game from behind the sticks??????

To have the freedom to stand without upsetting anyone? when i start taking my son to watch salford ill probably sit on the side with him and i will not be happy if our view is obstructed by people stood up, you want to stand go behind the goal if watching from the side is more important that standing sit on the side....its as simple as that in my book
Can you sit for a full 80 watching salford without leaping out of your chair when somthing happens? a question you yourself can only answer
i also think being positioned behind the goal will help the players think of all the classic away day atmospheres (warrington away 2002,2006, Castleford away 2004, Grandfinal widnes 2003 of the top of my head) we are all situated behind the goal i feel you get that extra 1% out of the players when they are attacking / defending a wall of noise.
How many tries did we conceed in the dying seconds infrount of the north stand where there were 1000+ visiting supporters going potty, it happened most weeks if we are being honest.
The shed was loud inside at times but from the north stand it on an average day you wouldnt hear it (unless it was a simple enough song for everyone to join in) so it was a factor in the usual collapse before half time / full time in my opinion
Quote The Black Cat="The Perry Boy"I like the way people are concerned about the fact if we all don't stand together there'll be no atmosphere generated at matches. Everyone stood together in The Shed for years and still didn't generate any atmosphere so what difference will it make?'"
You cannot have expected the shed to rock everyweek, its a two way street the crowd lift the team and the team somtimes lift the crowd, personally i feel the atmosphere wise the last season at the willows was a success was far better than the previous 2 season for a start, we made some good noise in certain games but quiet in others but id proably give it a 7.5/10
It will take a few games to get the atmosphere going again in the new ground, everythings going to be new but its an exciting challenge that lays head both on and off the field.
