I have never once heard, read, seen a statement off Jaw regarding putting the club up for sale. I've heard in the past few years he is willing to step down IF, a younger enthusiastic businessman appeared on the scene to take over his reign. But he has never once put the club up for sale, so until he does we can't really take his comments seriously enough, we'll never know how much serious genuine interest is out there until he actually takes the club to market.

 DI I'am confused your saying you haven't heard but you have? People who own sports clubs don't step down without selling their controlling interest of shares. Would you let someone play russian roulette with your money or personal guarantees? It's not the norm to advertise a club for sale, these things are usually done privately. |

I recollect hearing the Chairman make the offer of letting the club go if the right person came along, I am sure that it was on GMR some time ago and he has repeated it at Forever Reds meetings when questioned by fans but, and I know that some people will not accept the fact,he does have the club at heart and would only sell if he felt that it would be for the benefit of the club.
This to my mind was in a way putting the club up for sale and there doesn't appear to have been any offers.
If any prospective buyers read this forum I am not surprised. |

It's the public indifference that's the problem: only 2800 people turned up to watch the first senior game at the new stadium. Salfordians don't seem to be too interested in the club, or the sport as a whole. I don't think any amount of bleating about the chairman is going to change that.'"
RedJohn i fully understand your views, but to be honest he hasn't attempted a single PR & Marketing stunt in many a year. It doesn't cost a fortune in his world does it. |

Many if the things you've suggested [ido[/i cost a fortune though, or at least a 'fortune' where Salford are concerned because they've virtually no money left for marketing. Even printing leaflets to hand out costs money. One of theh reasons for moving to the new stadium was to attract more money so they [ican[/i do some of the things you suggest. The money has to come from somewhere. |

Well i spend a lot of time in the warrington area, their community programme puts us to shame. I know the wire are backed heavily in wealth but even stretching back a dacade or so when they were averaging 4000 attendances, they were always marketing and promoting the club heavily so i don't buy into your views john. Their's no excuse refraining from promoting your product.
