| Hunt is changing over to aerial ping pong.

No doubt the doom and gloom brigade will and the Goebbels inspired yawnion propaganda departments will be trying to paint this as the end of the NRL but I'm not at all fussed.
Good as he is, he isn't even Queensland's first choice full back and like all the other high profile "losses" he will be quickly forgotten. Meanwhile the AFL have put a lot money into a very high risk signing, something that hopefully will come back to bite them hard.

| Only the best athletes (RL I'm talking about) in the world can make the transition to AFL and Union cause they have every skill you can think of.Don't know wether a AFL player can handle the force of impact in RL that's why none have crossed over,as for KMH he would kill it in AFL as there isn't much skill involved besides fumbling the ball every 2 seconds.

| Agreed, simply have no time for these players who clear off to another sport at the first opportunity.
Jeez, whatever happened to loyalty or playing for the love of the game.
It shows one thing though...the union 'challenge' ain't all its cracked up to be with Wendell and Mat Rogers having come back (seen the light) and Timana Tahu about to do the same and foregoing a wedge of money to do so. They've all realised - its probably as bad to play as it is to watch.
I simply can't understand why anyone who can play the Greatest Game to such a high standard would want to leave in his pomp.
But then again I can't understand why a Kiwi would want to play for Australia. Apparently, he did that so he could play for Queensland in Origin...why, now, would he want to walk away from Origin football ?
Goodbye and good riddance Karmichael !

| Although most code changes are usually financially motivated, I wonder how much the poor reputation and media image of the NRL at present is a contributing factor to these kind of shifts.
It seems to be getting to the point where some players are actually ashamed of their occupation. The NRL may be the pinnacle of world RL on the field but off the field it is a complete shambles. Unless the sport gets its act together it could easily be eclipsed by other sports in the Sydney area. In this sense the NRL could do well to follow the example of SL, where the game is still a family sport and players on the whole are well behaved. The antics of Hock, Pryce etc pale into insignificance next to some of the stories appearing [iweekly [/iin the media in Australia.

The AFL becoming bigger that the NRL in Sydney is one of the signs of the apocalypse. The Sydney media are always looking for stories about the NRL due to its profile. It is hardly going to bring the sport down or influence players to choose another sport.
In the end it has to come down to money.
