What can Wellens do better then Briscoe

Fullback does not seem a strong spot in Super League.

Not at the minute. Webb is the only real world class FB in SL at the minute. Having said that they're are a number of very good prospect knocking around at the moment.

i think owen is a tremendous prospect, and will mature into one of the best in the game but at present the best english full back is briscoe.

Matt Blaymire put in a faultless display yesterday v Quins. He was a pleasure to watch throughout the full 80.

I'm sure if he'd had chance to dive in at the corner then he would have managed to keep control of the ball too.

Yes Wellens isnt an international standard fullback but he's a hell of a lot better than some on here make out. Simply put he wouldn't of held his place in that saints team for so long if he was bad.

The exta yard you get in SL means he's valuable at this level and he's in the top 3 imo

Briscoe isn't international standard either, probably a better call right now than wellens but then again we all know that

I think the problem with a few players IMO Wellens and Senior are two, is that from a GB/England point of view it speaks more about the failure to produce good players that these have been the best we had for so long,

tbf Senior's been a good player, I don't think anyone can deny him that.

Granted no Mark Gasnier, but he's been at the top level for about 15 years hasnt he? Not the player he was but still..a long career



Wellens looks great at club level because it's a yard slower. Those gaps he just goes through for Saints aren't there at international level. His positional play is second to none imo considering his lack of pace
