I think you will find I said that on a SATURDAY AFTERNOON the vast majority of people arriving in Cardiff from up the various South Wales valleys will alight at Cardiff Queen st. Which they will. Because the train stops there first. As far as access to the pubs and shops goes there really is not a lot of difference. Maybe you are not familiar with Cardiff? Maybe you should go there one day. It's not far from Newport.

I work there every day, thanks for the geography lesson though.



Queen Street station is a lot further from the stadium than central and quite a lot of the pubs.



We're talking a rugby day here and not a shopping day too.

I'll be honest I'm really looking forward to it. Well maybe not a Saturday night in Cardiff city centre wading through all the discarded kebab boxes, empty beer cans, piles of vomit, drunken women and bloodied and battered blokes lying all over the place. Its always an exciting time when the season starts though.

If you are travelling back on the train to Newport on Saturday night you will notice that people WILL be queueing up OUTSIDE the station in lines (in a 'bottleneck') before being allowed onto the platform by British Transport Police.

Thanks for changing your mind and actually confirming what I said. There IS more than one exit. This 'small gate at the back' is actually quite a large exit and is used to allow passengers who arrive on the higher numbered platforms at Central to exit the station via a shorter route than walking to the front exits opposite the bus station. You may not have known that if you arrive from Newport as I think your train would arrive on a lower numbered platform. The second exit I refer to leads directly onto Saunders Rd and just a few minutes later you find yourself on St Mary st (right outside the Walkabout)

the way people bite just encourages more behaviour like this.
