as for better than a winters day in england, today was better than a summers day in england!! were loving sydney and hopefully just bought our first house here

There is nothing better than watching a game at an 1800's throwback oval, gettinggrass stains on your jeans, no toilets or food to be seen anywhere, no fire escapes, termites, a low capacity......we need more of it!

Where you living?



You have to come to North Sydney Oval to watch a game there. I'm sure League Freak will come with you. He loves it there.

North Sydney oval is even better. They used to have a team playing out of there but that dead is dead now.



I love a stat of the art facility with picket fences and a cricket pitch through the middle of the field. I also like stands made in the 1700's, back when North Sydney was relevant.



The best part is how there is a try hanging over the fence (I sh*t you not!).





Still its good to see a wasteland, a place where the game realized it didnt need a club that was going no where an just killed it off to make the competition a better place for everyone else. They didn't march in the streets for the Bears because they had no fans.





To be fair though, they were sh*t.









Any others I should review?

Concord Oval?

Good job it wasn't raining or they'd have been less than 10,000. These grounds are fine when it is Sunday afternoon and it is sunny, sadly the game has movd on and very few games are played on a Sunday, and (it seems) very few days in Winter are actually sunny anymore!



ps Glad you are so ecstatic at getting 18,000. the real heartland of RL, Q'land, gets that every game every week and alot more besides!



One thing I do agree with you on though is that there are about 5 Sydney clubs that have a long term future and the rest will disappear/merge eventually.

Henson Park!!!

renting in Abbotsford at the moment, but just had an offer accepted on a house in Croydon Park, we would love to stay in Abbotsford or Ideally Balmain but at the moment cash doesn't allow that lifestyle





Dont know much about the Croydon Park area but having spoken to a few of the locals it seems a fairly family orientated area and the house is a steal for what it is, it'll do for a few years at least.



Absolutely loving being in Sydney though, it's a great place to live. My wife is from Perth but I really didnt want to move there as I found it a bit too isolated and a bit strerile to be honest, plus theres no top evel RL there
