This comes down to whether you are a glass half empty or a glass half full kind of guy. We've not seen enough of the guy to know if he's good enough or not and we don't know why Potter isn't playing him. So jump to whatever conclusions you want.



Personally I'd rather hope he needs time and will come good because the alternative is we'll starting next season with a new half back partnership and be no further forward. Can I prove it? No, but then ME I doubt you can prove he's crap either.

32 tries last year makes me loath to write him off when we have had just ten games and he has been unavailable through injury for many of them.



In any case, what's the point? Why so gleeful at seeing a Bulls player struggle? It's the tone of relish in your negative posts that I find distasteful, same as with your Hawkyard post. I honestly don't get why anyone would follow a team and continually snipe at them. It's weird behaviour.

I've seen all Briggs displays in the U20's and he's not stood out. Potter will have seen this too and none of us no hows he's doing in training.

I have been very supportive of the players brought in this season, despite a disasterous start. Briggs however is clearly not up to it like we could tell early on with Tupou (if I am allowed to use him????) As I said, the fact that we are playing players out of position rather than play him speaks volumes.

ME, you refer to 3 players above. Sibbit was released by Salford, I don't think anyone thought he'd be a good signing? Sykes was exposed for his flaws years ago, and I'd still like Herbert to be given time before we judge him.



You then mention Tupou, who actually scored something like 5 in his first 4 games as I recall. He was billed as the "new Lesley" by some and it was only in his second season we realised he'd be a flop. Briggs has played two super league games, and actually looked ok against Leeds. You could be right about him but I don't think there is yet the evidence that he isn't or will ever be up to super league standard.

Dear me, it is called having an opinion. In MY opinion Briggs ain't gonna be good enough for the side. People may well have differing opinions and fine but I reckon he is a dud. Now as far as I was aware there is no rule in the AUP saying you cannot post an opinion???



Time will tell on Briggs but I doubt I will be proven wrong.



I am sure my opposition on here would be forced to concede that because we are trying practically anyone bar him in his chosen position does suggest that at this time, Mr Potter feels he ain't up to much either? Perhaps?



Because (and I guess I should stress, IMO) if there were the signs that he will make it I am sure MP would be persevering with him in order to avoid the possible scenario as mentioned earlier of the need for a new HB pairing next season.



And the fact that some people continue to pedal the myth that he was good v Leeds at the Millenium is bemusing to say the least. He was dreadful for 50+ minutes of that game. As for Salford??????????

Course you're entitled to your opinion, I've never said otherwise. My point is you seem to have written him off based on his performance in two games. I'd have to see the Leeds game again (actually, given how it ended that won't be happening!) to say how Briggs played but I recall thinking he did well. I could be wrong.



I think Potter will have an open mind on who has a future at the Bulls. I'm just saying Briggs hasn't had a fair chance to show whether he is a good or bad signing yet.



As you say, time will tell. But if you continue to judge Briggs based purely on his performance in the Salford game you can surely name 16 other players who should never play for the club again?

As for the rest of it, no one's saying Briggs will definitely make it. But what's to be gained by going in hard and early that he won't? Nothing. And what's lost? The atmosphere of support and encouragement, something players regularly quote as something important to their success. I doubt that Briggs appreciates being called 'mince' and I doubt other players you hold in regard (such as... ?) appreciate him being called it either.



By all means, maintain your hanging judge mentality. You are right, you're not the only one on here, though you are one of the few who is definitely not just here on a wind up. Post what you want, but expect to get it commented upon. Don't like that? Head for the T&A's open waters.

As for you claiming that I described Briggs as "mince". I did not and I expect you to retract that statement. I actually said that Sykes was mince but better than briggs who has not yet reached such a level.

I would love to hear why you dont rate Briggs? Genuine question, but i personally havent seen enough of him to form an opinion. I accept i dont watch the championship on TV on Thursday nights so is this what you base your assesment on on?
