I'd describe Lyon as a centre who had a go at playing stand-off.



Long term I'd like to see Wheeler in the 6 shirt, hopefully alongside Eastmond, but as you say the likelihood is that Leon will be around for a few years yet and has made the stand off position his own. So for the time being lets give him an extended run at centre. Presuming Leon stays with us until the age of 31-2, that would leave a vacant stand off shirt when Wheeler is aged around 22-3.

Which would be ideal, he would be well used to the team, life in superleague etc before taking over such a pivotal role.

Jamie Lyon was always a centre, upuntil he signed for Manly

He is a world class centre and a ok stand off.



He played 6 for saints at Warrington in his 1st season and did ok.



I think he put kick up for KC to score the winner in last few secs of the game.

Lyon is an average stand off at best

Surely he can't be that average, he played 6 for Manly last year when they won the NRL, and the Manly fans loved him there.

I think it's fair to say that in the last two games Wheeler has been involved in, he's probably been in our top 3 players.

Wheeler has done a good solid job for us in the centre and he's done enough to warrant starting at centre on a weekly basis. He deserves his run in the first team and I trust Potter to get it right on when Wheeler should play and shouldn't in order to build up his belief.

He ain't great at stand off. He played centre alot last year also I think.
