But thats the thing, we could. Look at his record in the NRL. If we signed a player with a good injury record and he got a serious injury, fine. But that's not the case with Soliola. His case is like buying a used car. What we saw was a 2 year old Mercedes, available in our limited price range. Great. We saw that it had been involved in several serious accidents before yet ignored it. Within the first 20 miles of driving it, the engine failed.



Now if that were your partner buying a car with money you'd saved for 3 years would you not be slightly annoyed?

Injuries happen people. I doubt he came over expecting to get injured.



I remember Big Les getting a knee injury early in his Bradford career and went on to be their best player.

i was thinking about this earlier - what happens with medicals for foreign players. He was announced in May last year, so clearly hadn't come over here for a medical / contract signing - do Saints doctors and physios go to Aus, or do the club have someone over there permanantly that we use, or do we just not bother?

As has been said, if he had not been prone to long-term injury prior to coming here then this would have simply been unfortunate, even if it is his second spell of injury already. However, he was clearly injury prone before he got here and hey-ho, he's out for the season on his second injury spell and the season is only 7 weeks long. I've every right to be annoyed at Saints for signing such a high risk. We're now down one player for the whole season. That can happen with anyone but it's happened with a guy who was already injury prone, who we knew to be already injury prone, and who we have paid big enough bucks to bring over here.

Get rid, no point keeping a player on the books if he can't play.

That doesn't sound like someone who was always only going to make 2 appearances this season, be fair.
