| Quote Side Burns="Side Burns"Haha, pure comedy! We have been watching the most entertaining and physical campaign ever!
Rugby League is progressing at lightning pace, with the brutality of the game, and the skill of the players increasing year on year, why would we want to go back on what we are building!
Rugby League is growing, once we start competing at international level, it will grow bigger and bigger'"

| I would agree with the comments about holding down at the tackle. Much of the Huddersfield defence this season was based on 3-4 men 'wrestle type' tackles followed by each man then slowly taking turns rolling off the tackled player, thus allowing the defence to re-form. Referees seem prepared to allow teams to do this rather than go for quick play the balls.

| Quote GCM1980="GCM1980"The biggest problem with Super League compared to 3 or 4 years ago, is that it has lost alot of it's traditionally big, exciting games. It used to be that any match involving two of Leeds, Bradford, Wigan and Saints was a must watch. Because of the downward spiral of Bradford and to a lesser extent Wigan (who are recovering somewhat in the last couple of years) this is no longer the case. Only Saints v Leeds has a real edge to it now.
Once you get past needing Sky Sports hype to convince you that a game has been, or is likely to be a 'classic' then there are still plenty of entertaining games to be had, but they don't have the backdrop of a firecracker atmosphere adding to the experience that they once had when the above mentioned teams made up the top 4 every year.'"
very good points you make, i would never want a return to playing leeds 4 times a season.. my point is genuinely about the standard of superleague, and the quality of matches.. another poster states about the situation with regards to huddersfield, our matches against them have been close, but boring as hell..
with all the leeds fans saying 'it's so saints have more of a chance' with the pace in leeds outside backs, a quicker play of the ball would probably make them a better team anyway..
the petition was not a way of making superleague better for saints, but for more attacking play throughout the league

| All too often we are seeing tries scored by building of pressure, and tries from within 10 yards, or attacking kicks
And .......
There a problem with that ? If you don't want to see tries scored like that go watch football instead.. muppet .

I'd rather see free flowing, length of the field tries and I'm sure most people would. The flair seems have to have gone from most teams and this has been gradually happening for the last 3 or 4 years now, the speed of the game is extremely slow. Catalans were the only team to bring any entertainment to the Play Offs IMO.

The RFL had the right idea, they just did it wrong. The PTB speed is [itoo[/i slow and the skill level has gone down. Most teams seem to rely on brute force moreso than they ever did.

now we've got all that fun and games from earlier out the way, you now make sense.. i have no doubt that is the reason why the rugby league are doing it, but is it worth losing 35 weeks of the regular season, for the sake off possibly competing on the international stage..
from what i have heard, the NRL has once again sped up the play the balls, and is far more entertaining than superleague

I must have missed them in the Grand Final. Apart from the odd few, I didn't see that many on the TV games I saw Leeds in either.
