Most video cameras dont have a USB port. They have a 1394 (firewire port) instead. 100mb/sec as oppose to 400mb/sec speeds respectivley HTH |

I've got a sony Handcam dcr - hc51e. They can't convert to the PC at all can they? altho I've got a DVD recorder down stairs.. |

According to Sony website it has a DV iLink output. Thats what connects to the firewire port. The card i linked to comes with the cable and software to connect yer cam to pc with editing software.

To be honest its not a bad video camera for the money. Without seeing the image quality when you use the optical zoom its hard to compare to any other camera. Dont bother with the digital zoom cos its a waste of time. Its got Zeis optics and a long life battery so realy the only choice would be to pony up sum more cash n jump to HD

Personally the Quality doesn’t bother me as much as long as its see able. It’s Youtube I’m using it for - not a documentary on ITV. I’ll see what happens tomorrow with curry’s then if I don’t get anything that can connect to Youtube then Firewall it is!

| OK Damo now im confused. You want to connect to youtube with it ? Its not that simple. The firewire card goes inside yer pc. The cable connects yer camcorder to the pc. The software or windows movie maker or nero show time if you have it lets you capture what youve recorded on to your hard drive and manipulate it with titles and transitions and such. Then you encode it to whatever format you like (vob, mp4, wmv etc etc) then you upload it to youtube |
