Saints are top, huddersfield third, wigan hammered leeds & all are still in it.
Can't knock the guy for building a good, be it thin squad, youth devolopment, new stand, club on a sound footing etc.
But come season ticket time he will be leaving a place in the squad open for that potential big signing with the money thats left only to confirm that coady or someone has trained well so will get the number 3 shirt that we were led to belive was mark gasniers.
Other teams kick on.
If Leeds don't reach or loose the GF wait for 'we didn't want to play in the WCC anyway as last year it affected our cup run', or if leeds do win it why not just play the academy in the cup and concentrate on the 80 or 90 quid for topping the table.'"
I was going to post the link yesterday as it made me laugh. He's correct though and it's to be expected as he's hardly going to be negative.
All i can say is it's a good job we did get knocked out of the cup otherwise i fear we'd be lower than 2nd place. As we got knocked out of the cup so early the minimum i expected was to finish top. Let's hope we do. (would be happy for 2nd again though if it meant we we're champs again  ) |

Indeed he has. In some ways it adds a bit of pressure on our performances as we're expecting to ''see the benefits of being knocked out of the cup'' |

I am not saying it does have any impact on his job, it's not exactly that serious what he said.
But he has twice now built up been out of the cup gives the team an advantage over others in the cup. Yesterday he has gone into even greater detail and pointed out how Saints and Huddersfield will be playing an extra "semi" over Leeds, and whoever wins will be playing two.
From his comments should we not win it, he is clearly pointing out that we are not as good as those teams. Therefore putting pressure on Leeds to finish the business. |

Agree 100%. I'd add we've had an advantage since we got knocked out of the cup and should have done better up to now. Should we not do the buisness in the GF, this season will have been a total and utter failure. (Obviousley any serious injuries can't be helped, should it affect the season's outcome). |

Not winning the WCC, getting knocked out of the Challenge Cup at the first hurdle with home advantage, (and if it comes to pass) not finishing league leaders and/or not winning the Grand Final will hardly rate as a successful campaign for the reigning champions.
