| Quote Andy Gilder="Andy Gilder"Didn't Wakefield have two players sent off in that game tvoc?'"
Correct. The first was another Australian Lindsay Gill for a late off the ball tackle on Steve Martin (Gill had already spent 10 in the sin bin after a ruck with Roy Dickinson) and Lewis followed him immediately for using foul and abusive language at the referee and touch judge. It wasn't his first offence either having had a running battle with Peter Massey for most of the afternoon.

IIRC the game ended 20-19, although I probably don't.

| Joking aside, probably the best defensive halfback I can recall seeing at that time. Great low tackling technique, lead to him getting a lot of head wounds from studs IIRC.

His best game for Leeds (IMO) was probably down at Craven Cottage against the original Fulham outfit in the 83/4 season where incidentally he wore a huge head bandage throughout. Two great tries IIRC.

| Of all teams/countries since c. 1982:
Brett Kenny at the top, followed by some four in some order from Lewis, Sterling, Clyde, Ettingshausen, Fittler, Lockyer, Johns.
Top 5 Leeds players in same period (not necessarily in order):
Hanley, Ettingshausen, Holmes, Lauitiiti, Peacock.
