| Quote chapylad="chapylad"Finally got on here after the HTTP 500 error kept me off for a day.
Agree with Trebor that Summerville, Gnonto and Rutter were poor along with Piroe who didn`t get in the game.
Rodon probably the only one who really stood out and had he passed to Piroe when he was in the box I think we go on to win that game.
James unlucky and added the pace we lacked all game.
Whilst we had what 70+ possession most of it was from passing sideways or backwards as once again Southampton got the tactics right and our form against Norwich deserted us.
I would try and get Roberts and Rodon signed up first and foremost and look for a McLean type midfielder.
Summerville needs moving on and so does Gnonto.
We need to start making our signings early and get them all together pre season.
We missed out on promotion dues to our failings in the last 9 games and it was always going to be difficult the way Southampton play in a one off game.'"
Agree with this but I'd add it wasn't just the end of the season that cost us. The shambolic start put us behind the pack and we did amazingly well to come back into it. Got to try and get business done as early as possible, but with the Euros, it always puts things back as teams look for signings there. BUT, I don't doubt that the 49ers were already planning for going up and staying in the Champ, so they've no doubt got targets worked out. Guess alot depends on what we get for those leaving.

| Can’t see anything immediately prior to this current page on this thread at the moment, I keep going back to Jul 2023. Must say, a very interesting discussion on Max Wober back then .

chapylad Trebor1: chapylad chapylad: Well I`ve been away for 3 weeks and so impressed with the results we have produced during that time. After being on the go for almost 30 hours and arriving home yesterday with a chuffing flu virus I was determined to watch the game. Couldn`t believe the Meslier howler and was starting to think it`s me jinxing the team. But a top class team performance got us home comfortably in the end. Firpo my MoM. Losing Ampadu is going to be a blow as Gruev doesn`t appear up to it. Agree Hamer should have got a second yellow for the foul on Rodon. Tanaka no way a yellow. Good substitutions again by Farke. Shame that Joseph just doesn`t seem to be the player I thought he would be. Rodon very good at the back again.
Hope you had a good one mate, holiday ?? Always trust an airplane to spread a load of bugs around! 12 games left, if Ampadu needs an Op, i cant see him playing again this season.. Yes mate spending some of my NHS pension after 42 years in the rat race and treating the other half to a big 60 birthday on a cruise around SE Asia.So annoyed I didn`t take my LU scarf and post whites on tour in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines etc. Think we caught the bug either on the ship and if we didn`t nearly everyone around us on the plane was coughing their guts out! Some excellent results but the next 2 or 3 could be pivotal as expectations are higher. My worry apart from Meslier of course is an injury at CH and we are up the creek. I also think Albion will be quite physical on Saturday and hope the ref gets on top of it early doors. Meslier will also have his work cut out at set pieces Saturday.

| I agree. WBA and then 3 awkward games in 6 days are crucial. I'd take 5 points from those 3 games if I'm honest
