| Quote SRC="SRC"Fax are setting the pace for sure, but reading some of the comments on here would have you believe that they've already won the thing. Fax WILL lose at least 1 or 2 games this season so it's still all up for grabs. You also have to remember that this is Barrow's first season at the higher level and most of the 10 'locals' who played today (and vs Wigan, Fax and Widnes)have never played at this level before. They are only going to get better.
There's a long way to go and Barrow still have room in the salary cap for 4 more players. Today's defeat will give the Barrow players, coaching staff and officials even more determination to improve. I'm sure Des J has a few quality signings up his sleeve for the 2nd half of the season.
The fact is that the only thing that matters is who wins the GF in September. Fax may well be peaking too soon (as they have done in the past).'"
We MIGHT lose 1 0r 2 games, you can't be certain we will.
Barrow probably will get better as the season progresses, theres nothing to say eveybody else won't either.
Strange comment saying you have room for 4 more players, all players will want paying different so not sure how you work out you can afford 4 more. Thats said i've no doubt you will bring some more quality in towards the business end of the season as we have done previously e.g Gleeson.

| Quote littlerich="littlerich"I don't think anyone on here is under any illusion as to what a successful Toulouse side will mean. All we can do is try and tick as many boxes as we can - the rest is up to the God's at Red Hall.'"
I know I'll probably get crucified on here for posting this, but what the hell !!! ......
I don't think that Fax, Fev or Leigh will ever get into Super League under current Red Hall guidelines. They are hellbent on 'expansion' and I think they will be wanting to REDUCE the number of SL teams in Yorkshire.
Leigh are just too close to Wigan - again that wouldn't be expansion.
Widnes have an outside chance as have a Cumbria team - if anyone get's their act together sufficiently.
Toulouse would be seen as expansion, even though I don't think there'll be sufficient talent in France to sustain 2 x SL teams in the forseeable future. Therefore, a strong Aussie contingent would be ever present.
For the 2012 season (as long as qualifying rules are met by these clubs) I think that it will be either Toulouse, Widnes or a Cumbrian team.
For 2015 I can see a Scottish and an Irish team throwing their hats into the ring.

Just going on the fact we missed out on the 3 Fijians and have also sacked Ian Bell. They will all have been on a good contract.

| if the celtic situation doesnt improve then maybe expansion wont appear such a graceful option.
even if it does get the nod, they may want to avoid entering a cumbrian team because its such a depressing place for people to visit

Fair enough, so you could potentially sign more than 4, or 1 'superstar'!
Why was Bell sacked, thought he was one of your best players when we played at yours.

| Quote Gary High="Gary High"18th July it is then
Toulouse will have probably recruited a few more Aussies by then and you may struggle. Haven't seen Toulouse play so couldn't possibly comment on how good they are.'"
What a muppet- they can only have the 5 Aussies they have! They can add French players but no more overseas players and really they should only be 1 like the rest of us but the RFL dont believe in fair play-Celtic Crusaders, The way SL teams are allowed more overseas players than the Championship clubs etc etc
Quote Gary HighHa ha that has to be one of the funniest things I have heard. Don't recall Fax being made welcome by the RFL in SL.'"
But Fax fans are aware that we are not wanted and th we will be lucky to get near to SL. However reading the Barrow Forum most are of the opinion that Barrow should be in SL in 2012 no matter what. The thing is teams like Fax and barrow are not welcome as we are seen as small clubs in the heartlands whilst Sky/RFL want big city teams or teams from Wales or France.

That includes all the reserve team.
We now only have a 'first team' squad of 21/22. That's players with more than just 2 or 3 first team outings (mostly in the NR Cup). We need to get it upto that 25 mark. Hence the 4 players we are short.
