If what you describe is putting a trophy in the cabinet then give me mediocrity and poor business sense everyday. I feel sorry for you if you think the last three years have been mediocre. I suggest you follow another club, or another sport? Man Utd perhaps?

I wasn't there this afternoon but have been for the rest of the season, we've been to the final of one comp and barring a reffing decision or two could have won.

I agree there have beentimes, and probably too many, when we have all angered by what appears to be total lethargy but we've beaten all but Batley this season and we should have had them a few weeks ago.

We need to support the team while we can, they've been through it as well, coaching issues etc. so a final push could give us something to smile about.

Also, the grass is not always greener, at the end of last season we all could n't wait for a year as champions and, as you say, you now want to see the end of it.

So Widnes ( his home town ) is where he has put his money , and well done to him for that



But let me ask a question



Would he have taken on the the Vikings if they had only had a couple of thousand fans , the same basically as another 3/4 clubs in NL1 / The Championship ?



Or was it because they had the ' extra ' that essentially made Widnes Vikings a sustainable proposition ?



That's the challenge , to make ourselves attractive enough to bring in ' investement ' that will enable the ' investor ' to achieve more than just treading water or fighting a fire , with both hands tied behind their back

Sadly SL have made it necessary to have a money man involved with a club when common sense tells you that a club should be self sufficient, and unreliant on the outside income of an individual. Fax have done fantastic without the excessive financial input from businessmen yet have been punished for it. The problem isnt with Fax, it is with the oafs at the RFL.

Yes Fax have done well to achieve self sufficiency , however the step up from where they currently are finances wise , to SL self sufficiency is massive , it is probably that gap that the RFL see as a problem

looking at the "support" that GFB shows fax, I suspect he may be a bulls fan on the wind up! As you say, a trophy and finals, mediocre, achieved on a shoestring budget, badly run club, pah!



I recommend a bulls or giants ticket on the cheap next year, see how many finals you see then GFB!

Freddie as for me showing my `support` for the last 25 or so years, lets just say if the club had kept a few more of us happy they may just have a bit more money to spend than they have now.
