B0NES: Looks like more players will be leaving soon as it looks like the Salford saga is going to drag on for a few weeks more according to their CEO .
The deal they signed when they left the Willows more or less condemned them to this fate by not making a penny from anything at the new stadium .
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I think the era of renting/sharing football/council owned grounds is dated. I never went to the Willows but I understand that it was a close walk to the houses and pubs but the new one is a trek to get to. Some complain about the MKM but the location is spot on pretty much in the middle of where the Boulevard and Boothferry Park where and walkable for a lot of people.
Salford fans may not like this comment but do the RFL write them off as a dead loss and instead start a 'Manchester' team at Man Citys reserve stadium where they are based. Appreciate that many Salford fans would be fuming and never go there but starting afresh in League1 is surely an option now. Salford only get 4k ish home fans anyway which shouldent be hard to replicate in such a huge city as Manchester.
